A view of Nelson at Pusser's® Landing in Gibraltar

"ENGLAND EXPECTS EVERY MAN TO DO HIS DUTY"

These immortal words were sent by signal flag to the fleet as the British sailors waited to engage with the enemy at sea off Trafalgar.
Throughout the intervening years, generations of naval officers and men have toasted the Queen with a shot of Pusser's® Rum.
You can toast the Queen standing next to Nelson, live on the webcam now!

While there is no documentary evidence that Nelson's body was ever brought ashore in Gibraltar after he was fatally wounded at the Battle of Trafalgar, the links between him and the Rock are strong.
From 1793 onwards he was fighting the French and Spanish in the Mediterranean.
Trafalgar is an area of sea east of Barbate, which is a short drive from Gibraltar, a little further along the Spanish coast than Tarifa. It is entirely plausible that the ship that bore his body would first land in British Gibraltar to give the news not only of his death, but the great naval victory he had won for the British fleet, before returning him to England for his State Funeral in January 1806 which lasted for 5 days of ceremonies and was attended by huge crowds.
